Description

Description

The S-7018.G is an iron powder low-hydrogen electrode designed for high-efficiency welding of 490 MPa (73,000 psi) class high-tensile steels. It is ideal for applications in bridges, buildings, rolling stock, and heavy machinery. This electrode provides excellent usability with both AC and DC currents and can be used in all welding positions. It offers a stable arc, smooth bead appearance, and easy slag removal. Additionally, the weld metal ensures good mechanical properties, crack resistance, and reliable X-ray performance.

Features:

  • High deposition efficiency due to iron powder content
  • Suitable for all-position welding
  • Good mechanical properties and crack resistance
  • Easy slag removal and smooth bead appearance
  • Applicable for various high-tensile steel structures

Usage Instructions:

  • Dry the electrodes at 300–350°C (572–662°F) for 30–60 minutes before use.
  • Store the electrodes at 100–150°C (212–302°F) if not used immediately after drying.
  • Use the back-step method or strike the arc on a small steel plate to prevent blowholes at arc initiation.
  • Employ wind protection when welding in strong wind conditions.
