The Groz SHID/10/30 Sledge Hammer is a heavy duty striking tool designed for demanding demolition, construction, rebar, stone breaking, fence post driving and metal forming applications. It combines a 10 lb or 4.5 kg forged steel head with a 30 inch or 750 mm indestructible handle for reliable professional use.
Its indestructible handle is reinforced with spring steel bars running through the handle and secured to the hammer head using a steel locking plate. This construction is designed to prevent the head from loosening or becoming dislodged during repeated heavy impacts. Groz lists six spring steel bars for the 10 lb 30 inch version.
The forged steel hammer head is induction hardened to 50 to 58 HRC for durability under intensive striking work. An ergonomic rubber grip helps absorb vibration and reduce user fatigue, making the hammer more comfortable during extended demolition and construction tasks.
The SHID/10/30 conforms to BS 876, ANSI and SANS 387:2014 requirements for material, hardness and performance. Groz specifies an operating temperature range from minus 10°C to 50°C.
