3M™ Double Coated Urethane Foam Tape 4004 is a professional-grade adhesive solution designed for industrial mounting and bonding applications. This off-white, 0.250 inch (6.4 mm) thick double-coated tape features an open-cell, semi-rigid urethane foam carrier that provides excellent gap-filling capabilities and vibration dampening properties. The tape is manufactured with 3M™ Adhesive 100, a high-temperature acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive system that delivers high shear strength and superior bond durability.
The open-cell foam structure of this tape aids in component cooling while the thick foam effectively dampens vibrations and prevents movement in mounted components. With a tensile strength of 90 lb/in and elongation at break of 90%, this tape offers reliable performance for both interior and exterior applications where environmental protection is provided. The high-temperature acrylic adhesive provides excellent bond to metal and high surface energy plastics, with very good resistance to solvents and chemicals. Bond strength increases substantially with natural aging, making it ideal for long-term applications.
This industrial-grade product comes in a case of 24 rolls, each measuring 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) wide by 18 yards (16.45 meters) long. It is specifically formulated for mounting interior signs and nameplates, electronic applications requiring thicker foam tape, and general interior mounting where gap filling is needed.
