3M™ Construction Seaming Tape 8087CW is a premium cold weather sheathing tape specifically designed to seal seams on housewrap and exterior sheathing materials. This versatile tape features an aggressive pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive mounted on a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film backing that performs exceptionally well in cold temperature applications. The tape is engineered for seaming, splicing, sealing and repairing moisture barriers both inside and out, including sheathing, weather resistant barriers and vapor barriers. Its conformable backing ensures excellent adhesion to irregular surfaces and contours, providing a tight seal that reduces air infiltration and improves insulation effectiveness, ultimately reducing heating and cooling costs.
The 8087CW tape features exceptional cold temperature performance with the ability to be applied from 10°F (-23°C) to 185°F (85°C) and maintains service temperatures from -40°F (-40°C) to 185°F (85°C). Once bonded, this tape provides superior holding power for extended periods with excellent aging and UV resistance that prevents lifting and curling. The red colored backing provides increased visibility during installation, making it easier to identify properly sealed seams. The tape unwinds easily by hand or with a 3M hand-held applicator, making installation efficient and straightforward.
