The 3M™ Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape 06395 is a premium automotive attachment tape engineered specifically for bonding exterior trim and components to automotive substrates. This advanced tape features a durable 1.52 mm closed-cell acrylic foam core with dual-sided adhesive technology - the liner-side adhesive bonds to automotive paint systems while the non-liner-side adhesive delivers excellent adhesion to metal and plastic parts. The tape is OEM-approved and designed for demanding applications including wide body side moldings, bug deflectors, door edge moldings, large claddings, rocker panel moldings, spoilers, roof ditch moldings, and tailgate appliques.
This versatile tape delivers exceptional performance with high adhesive build rates on automotive substrates and excellent initial tack and final adhesion. The conformable foam core provides excellent wet-out on surface contours, making it ideal for complex geometries and stress-prone applications. Both adhesives are formulated for very high adhesive build and maintain bond-line aesthetics under normal stress loads. The tape features excellent stress relaxation properties when exposed to high stress loads, ensuring long-lasting durability.
The 7/8 inch width and black color create sharp bond lines while the proprietary red 3M-branded liner provides easy one-piece release for efficient application. An adhesion promoter is recommended for optimal tape-to-part adhesion on plastic parts including reaction injection molding (RIM) polymer parts, thermoplastic olefin (TPO), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), polypropylene (PP), and polycarbonate (PC). This tape includes proprietary branding technology to help with identification and guarantee authenticity.
