Premium industrial aluminum foil tape with thermally conductive backing, acrylic adhesive, and excellent chemical and heat resistance for professional masking, sealing, and heat shielding applications.
3M™ Aluminum Foil Tape 427 is a premium industrial adhesive tape engineered for demanding applications across aerospace, automotive, appliance, construction, electronics, and metalworking industries. This linered version of the 3M™ Aluminum Foil Tape 425 features a dead soft aluminum foil backing with a highly engineered pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, making it ideal for heat shielding, heat reflecting, chemical masking, light enhancement, chemical milling, seaming, sealing, and de-paint operations. The tape measures 6 inches wide by 360 yards long with a total thickness of 4.6 mils, providing excellent coverage for large-scale industrial projects.
The thermally conductive aluminum backing effectively dissipates heat over the tape surface to reduce hot spots and protect temperature-sensitive substrates from high-temperature effects. With a backing thickness of 2.8 mils and an adhesive thickness of 1.8 mils, this tape maintains a strong and reliable bond while withstanding exposure to high heat, humidity, moisture, weathering, UV radiation, and various solvents. The tape operates reliably within a temperature range of -65°F to 300°F (-54°C to 149°C), making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Recognized by UL to UL 746C (File E 122798) and classified by UL to UL 723 Class "L" for low flammability rating, this professional-grade tape meets FAR 25.853(a) specifications and can be certified to L-T-80C standards. Its easy-release film liner (3.1 mils thick) makes it perfect for die-cutting applications, while the highly engineered acrylic adhesive provides long-term durability and removes cleanly after harsh masking applications. The silver aluminum backing is both heat and light reflective, enhancing lighting efficiency and protecting surfaces from thermal and light damage.
