This linered version of 3M™ Aluminum Foil Tape 425 features a dead soft aluminum foil backing combined with a highly engineered pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, making it ideal for heat shielding, heat reflecting, chemical masking, light enhancement, chemical milling, seaming, sealing, and de-paint operations. The tape consists of a 2.8 mil thick aluminum foil backing with a 1.8 mil acrylic adhesive layer, providing excellent thermal conductivity to dissipate heat and reduce hot spots while protecting temperature-sensitive materials and substrates from high-temperature effects.
This thermally conductive tape is engineered to withstand exposure to high heat, humidity, moisture, weathering, UV radiation, and various solvents, maintaining a strong and reliable bond in both indoor and outdoor environments. The dead soft aluminum backing conforms seamlessly to curved and uneven surfaces, while the advanced acrylic adhesive provides long-term durability yet removes cleanly after harsh masking applications. With a temperature use range from -65°F to 300°F (-54°C to 149°C), this tape meets stringent safety standards including UL recognition to UL 746C and UL classification to UL 723 Class L for low flammability rating, as well as FAR 25.853(a) compliance.
Each case contains 16 rolls of 3-inch width and 60-yard length, totaling 960 yards of tape per case.
